Ariel enjoys a delightful blend of city convenience and country leisure,
framed by breathtaking mountain views. An elevation of 700 meters above sea level provides mild summer breezes, and on a clear day you can see the Mediterranean Sea 40 km (25 miles) to the west.

The surrounding countryside is rich with Biblical history going back thousands of years:
* the graves of Joseph and Joshua
* the Mountains of Blessings and Curses
* Jacob's Well
* the location of the Tabernacle at Shilo
* Ahab's ivory palace
* and more.
